Wire Project
Space& Materiality Culture Jennifer Wang

Inspiration:
I am from Shanghai, China. I got my inspiration from my mother wearing traditional QiPao (dress). I really hope my first Art piece in The New School could be my beautiful, beloved mum. I put extra focus on her curly hair and delicate brows.
Materials for drawing:
1. Pencils
2. Charcoal pens
3. Markers
Minimalism
I wanted to minimize the lines in the drawing and only letting my main focuses to stand out.
Peer Review:
I like the one with two hands grabbing a pencil from a girl. It was my favorite piece of work in our class because it was very catchy. I love how she did positive spaces and negative spaces, the way she made hands look so lively and interesting and her idea. The main focus of that wire piece was very clear and eye-catching. She also used a different color of wires to express lighting and shadings. Overall, it was a very interesting art piece to look at and it was my favorite one!
