Beauty is Universal
Beauty is universal and effortless. Fashion industry is experiencing enormous changes of embracing more varieties and design evolutions. In the bridge project, I made one mood board and four digital collages to show what beauty means to me.
Mood board: Fashion trend is a loop which goes forward and backward using modern interpretations to commemorate vintage fashion.
Collage No.1: Beauty is expressive.
The fun part of fashion is wearing what we like and what make us feel good about ourselves. Clothing style speaks for us and we shall all have fun in changing into different sides of our personalities. We can’t feel beautiful if we oppress our natures.
Collage No.2: Beauty is naturally occurring.
To improve ourselves in certain areas, we ‘fake it til we make it’. But for owning beauty, we don’t need to try too hard or be harsh on ourselves. We embrace ourselves’ nature beauty and expand on that. A person can reach ones ultimate beauty and highest confidence level by truly love who he or she is. Embracing ourselves is self care.
Collage No.3: Fashion is a loop.
Fashion is not a perfect cycle; it is a loop. It goes backwards and forwards and we interpret vintage fashion in modern ways. Brands like Givenchy and Celine is trying to bring nostalgic fashion back.

Collage No.4: No one gets left behind.
I am delighted to see cosmetic companies launching make up productions with so much more of shades that will fit everyone and fashion brands design clothing for more body types. Fenty Beauty by Rihanna launched a foundation collection which contains 50 shades that will fit every skin tone and skin type. I am so glad to see more choices that we are having now compares to a few years ago. I used to wear foundation that was not designed for my skin and had very few choices. No one should be left behind. I am looking forward to see stores having various sizes of clothing for consumers to try on. We are wearing the clothes, not the clothes wearing us. No one should struggle with buying clothes that fit them. This movement can expand the market and let more people enjoy the fun part of fashion.
