Sustainable System: Action Week Proposal

Action Week Proposal

Problem: Many international students went back to their home countries, but could not  bring their pets back. Most of them gave their pets to their friends temperarly or paid other people to take care of them. And some people may choose to abandon those poor little fluffy buddies.

My intention: Helping out people that can’t take pets to their home countries, and give little animals a safe home. Non profitable, I don’t charge anything, but if given pets’ daily supplies and feeding instructions is better.

Current situation: There is high demand from international students that are planning to leave the US, that they either pay for people to take care of their pets or they need to find their pets new homes. There could be a problem of people secretly abandon their cats and dogs because they are not willing to pay someone for an uncertain amount of time or could not find people willing to adopt.

Activist group: 4 students in PSU that work for an online second hand trading APP and we are working on adopting pets or helping people to take care of their pets for free. We are now planning to adopt one cat, one dog and four guinea pigs.

My action: I can provide a safe shelter for unwanted pets and I had pets before, so I am able to take good care of them. I am collaborating with a second hand APP called iDeal and encouraging my friends to adopt pets instead of buying. (4 of my friends work for this APP and my encouragement of adopting pets is non profitable.)
