Initially, I wanted to do something realistic to get to know about the composition and structure of my item.
I added shades, shadows, and highlights to my sketch.
I covered a piece of tracing paper on my original work and traced the edges of my object with brush pen. This process shows me the geometric version of my object.
I collaged my realistic object and geometric object the and effect is not as good as I imaged.
I tried to represent my object with different materials. Colored pencils can show the details and the colors, but making is too realistic is not interesting for my object 🙁
I thought using one color to depict the whole image might create a different sense, especially when we choose a suitable color. I chose blue with low saturation to convey a sense of loneliness and serenity.
There is a joke is China: “The panda’s wish is to take a colorful photo” Acrylic has high pigmentation and saturation. Using acrylic might be a good way to help the panda’s dream come true.
After making some evaluation about my experiments, I decided to use the concept of the geometric panda and I place the photo of the geometric panda into Adobe Illustrator and depict the edges
Then I adjusted the strokes to make it more natural and make the appearance better
These are pictures of places I’ve been to with the accompany of the small panda. And I plan integrate it with my geometric panda.
I placed the photos into the darker parts of my object.
