12 Versions of Personal Object
It’s a key ring which I use everyday. The pattern is a small panda which a representation of homeland, China. I chose it because it makes me feel that I was connecting to my home everyday. Also, it reminds me of the wonderful memories while I was traveling in HongKong cause it is a souvenir I bought in HongKong Ocean Park.
Putting it at different positions makes me feel that my little panda who always stays with me is leaving me and traveling around the world by itself, just like the children will finally leave their parents as they grow up. It really touches me because the feeling is so close to my own experience. I am experiencing an unpredicted journey all by myself.
This gives me the inspiration about the theme of my work, also I get to know more about the meaning behind my object and how to work with it.
