The book our group made is based on West village. We picked Gay Street from West Village specifically for a deeper development. The main part of the book is the Polaroid photographs of the doors and windows in the streets. The day we went out for shooting was close to Halloween and we took a lot of great pictures. Since we are focused on the doors and windows, we decided to make the book cover a “door”. We stick the films on a long piece of paper and fold it, as we pull the paper out, the photos show one after another. On the Back of the paper, we wrote down the interesting events happening around West Village as well. Dealing with the multiple perspectives, other than looking, we add “touching”. The greens on the book cover can actually make people touch, just like the actual plants that people have on their balcony.
