In Drawing and Imaging we were assigned to create a book cover for a book whose cover we think needs improving. I chose my  favorite play that I acquired during my trip to Iceland called Fjalla Eyvindur, which is Eyvindur of the Mountains in English by Johann Sigurjonsson. It is about a widow who run away to the wastelands with a criminal on the run. They get married and have children together but all of their children die and they do as well. I wanted to play up the drama and eeriness of the play with the book cover. To do this I decided to freeze a pacifier in water because the babies die by drowning and photograph that for the cover. I came up with four different versions. I played around with including both the Icelandic and the English versions of the title and in one of the drafts I created a new font with the pen tool that obscured the Icelandic so that it would add to the mystery.
