My final for my Product, Packaging and Promotion class was to create a cd design, cd case, t-shirt and exterior packaging for a single we were assigned with a partner we were assigned with. My partner was Jessie Yao and we were given the song Shit Creek by the band Bad Livers. The band is a mix of bluegrass, funk and punk. We read a review of one of their albums and the commentator said it was like a bunch of skeletons singing in an outhouse, this quote and zine and punk fashion were are two major inspirations for the piece. All of our illustrations were inspired from two zines I picked up from Blue Stockings and instead of a t-shirt we created the top half of overalls which you can clip onto your jeans to make overalls. We then distressed them that way marrying punk and bluegrass.
