This spinning top has a pencil at the bottom so when it spins it draws. At first the top piece allows for a better ergonomic hand placement for writing, however when you get writers block you can remove the top piece and spin it  to relieve stress.

Below are pictures from my models, first I used weighed down blue foam, then I carved several models from wood until I settled on my final top.
