Above are the photos from each activity. As I had forgotten to take photos during the activities, I asked my friends who went to the activity with me that day for any photos they took.
The first volunteer activity I went to was the mobile mural painting where we used acrylic paint to paint on a big piece of fabric. I mostly worked on painting the background/scenery/greenery of the mural. It was a very quiet working space as everyone was fully concentrated on painting their section of the painting. On the day of the pageant, I saw the finished mural being hung up on the fence outside the garden and it looked really good. I was very glad that I was able to contribute to the final product and was very happy to see the fruition of my work on the day of the pageant.
The second volunteer activity I went to was costume making. There were different tables each designated to making a different part of the costume. I decided to work on the stitching table where each of us was handed a small painting on fabric, each depicting a different community or area and we were told to use multiple colored threads to decorate over them. I mainly worked one small painting whilst I was there. There were many volunteers that day and they were all very friendly, each teaching us what to do if we ever needed help.
The last volunteer activity I went to was puppet making. There, I made plastic flowers out of plastic bags (which were color coordinated) and pipe cleaners. As this was one of the last days before the pageant, most of the costumes were finished or very close to being finished. One of the other volunteers showed us how to make the flowers and for the rest of the volunteer activity, I worked on making flowers. The activity ended early as most of the costumes were done and everyone was done if not close to finishing preparing for the parade. On the day of the pageant, I saw different costumes with the flowers attached to them and it was great seeing them on costumes being worn by people during the parade.
