In my essay, titled “Remnants of a Starry Night”, I explored this illustration in terms of designer, illustrator, publisher, historical context and art movements of the time with reference to various articles and reputable sources. This illustration features a central woman figure, with her back facing the viewer, dressed in an ice blue robe du soir with self-fabric streamers adorned with pink flower embroidery by Jeanne Lanvin. Capturing the essence of one of the 1920s forthcoming styles, this pochoir, named “Venez Danser”, was published in Gazette du bon ton, known for its extensive use of this art form.
