Chapters Review:

The chapters of the book discussed elements of design that are crucial when composing a narrative. Framing a story requires key elements such as symbols and transitions.  Symbols or abstract pieces within a work, allow space for the creative mind to flourish. Humans feel more comfortable relating to things that are less detailed because the concept is more open to interpretation.  One has more fun trying to dissect a piece of work rather than it already being dissected for us, because we see ourselves in the work. Therefore, in my remix project I randomly collaged different videos and audio clips together in order to create a piece more open to interpretation, rather than being too obvious with the steps of the story.  I also included the concept of closure within my work because it is something that humans seek in all aspects of their lives. In moving pictures, we observe the parts but perceived the whole, the phenomenon of closure. Just like comics have gutters, where the human imagination takes two separate images and transforms them into a single idea, I used transitional footage to connect ideas within my video montage.
