Storytelling/Dreamtime in Color

This is the first step to my dreamtime project. I was looking at pink and purple gradients as well as flowers and landscapes and how they work together and separately. I was intrigued by the geometric shapes in the architecture of buildings and wanted to include that in my dreamtime. I looked at the photo on the top left in specific because not only did it have the interesting building but it also had rows of flowers. Even the nature was formed into specific shapes. I then began to think of how nature takes a role in cities and sky lines and how opposites are brought together. After creating this mood board it was clear that I wanted my storytime/dreamtime to include geometric shapes, a skyline, and pink flowers.

This is the second step of my dreamtime project. This part is the background of my project and it was really important that I created geometric shapes and also include gradients within the shapes. I also used the pink and purple shades that were from the flowers in the photo I used for inspiration. I was able to incorporate the colors and gradients and geometric shapes in the background and the storytime comes together in my next process piece.

In my last process piece I have the start of my dreamtime. The gradient is purposefully placed in a diagonal going upward to show movement for the story time. I started to build in buildings to represent the skyline and then I later on add my pattern of flowers. I decided to make the buildings different shades so that there was dimension and that they stand out. At this point I had a clear vision of what I wanted my final piece to look like and the story line was coming together.
