Integrative Seminar 2: Absence of Systems

My group looked for absence’s of systems. We found this challenging and often thought that looking for working systems would be easier. Some of the systems we found we though could be either working or non working. One example of this is an old mailbox that no longer opened or worked. It is a system that is no longer working however is could be argued that it is working because it is not meant to open anymore and be used, it is kept there for aesthetic purposes. One aspect I noticed about our hunt for absence’s of systems is that the majority of them were small and almost insignificant and when we rejoined in class the majority of the systems were large, important operations. This means that even though there might not have been a system in place, in these circumstances, the consequences of them were minuscule.
