Artifacts – 1

The entirety of my being is wholly made up of others. All the people I have and have not met, my friends, peers, and family, the place I have grown up, the work that I do, have all made me who I am and who I have yet to become.

These photos describe my self. The first is a photo of me after graduating, getting lei, a tradition in Hawai’i when you graduate. Each lei is given by a friend, peer, or family member, showing their love and support. After being given an unforgettable 13 years of education, this shows my support system, friends, and family, that have formed who I am.

The second photo is a photo from Haleakalā, or “House of the Sun”, on the island of Maui. Hawai’i is the place I grew up and call home, it’s beauty, it’s rain, it’s sun, it’s beaches, forests, people, food, culture, and so much more has indirectly caused me to be who I am.

The third and last photo is a photo of work that I am proud of. It’s a mixture of collage and sketch, but also what lays behind it is the work, passion, and happiness I have for design and art.
