Cross Contour

I created this drawing in several steps, beginning with the use of tracing paper over a large image I selected.  We were tasked at using an image of the body for this assignment, so I chose a ballerina in movement.  After tracing the image, I began applying the cross contouring, strategically trying to mimic the movement of the dancer in a realistic, yet abstract way.  I used different sized strokes and stripe width in order to create the most meaningful drawing.  After reworking the cross contours from pencil, and then to Sharpie and Micron pens, I scanned my drawing so that I could enhance it through Photoshop.
