What I want it to show?
I wanted to show the general monthly spending of Parsons freshman depending on their given allowances per month.
How the information is gathered?
The information is directly from surveying 25 Parsons freshman.
Why is it represented in bar graph?
Bar graph is the best way to show comparison on student’s spending money increases depending on their allowances.
Why is it interesting?
I always document all my spending every month. I want to compare it with other students to see if I am similar to them. Every student show almost identical pattern on spending category; student mainly spends on their money on 6 things, food, recreational money, hygiene product, healthcare, school materials, and bills. Moreover although each student receive different amount of allowances, the percentage of each spending are same. For example, students receiving 500 dollars per month spends approximately 25 percent of their money on foods; students receiving 1500 dollars also spends 25 percent on their foods. This similarity in percentage and pattern is applied in every category. It was fascinating to find out all students receives different amount of allowances, but the percentage of their spending are very similar.
