Integrative Research & Development – Post #4

For the past week, I have been working on the final stages of the book with my team. After a while, we have decided on a team and project name. Our team name is “Refresh” and our project name is “Link”. We have also split up work amongst ourselves to make sure a big part of the book is finished before the second presentation in class. During the past week, I have been working on editing the book to make it look clean, simple, and to the point. I added images which relate to the design phases for each phase page along with pushing the headings to the left margin. Below is an image from the InDesign file showing one of the pages which introduces a design phase.

I have also made a “Table of Contents”, but there is still more to put into it as it is just a quick mock up for the presentation. Along with that, I worked on finalizing the three user personas I created and I added them into the book. Each persona is dedicated to a different age group and each user is facing different difficulties related to the usage of social media. Below is the contents page along with the cover page in the book placed before the personas to introduce the personas.

The final part I worked on was creating logos for the final design phases. Our design phases are define, dive, design, and deliver. I focused on creating simple yet unique logos to demonstrate the meaning behind each word. Below is an image from the InDesign file of the final design phases and their logos. For the first phase, define, I made a target because we want to target the main issue precisely as a team in order to define it. For the second phase, dive, I decided on showcasing a stick figure diving into water to indicate our team diving into the issue to better understand and hopefully solve it. For the third phase, design, I created a head with machinery being part of the brain to demonstrate our brains working and in action to design a successful prototype. The final phase, deliver, is a stick figure delivering the final product to the client.
