For this assignment, we were assigned to create a meme on Pink. To learn specifically about the color pink, our class went to an exhibition “The History of the color Pink” in the FIT museum. The exhibition showed the history of the color pink through the pink colored items of clothing that were trendy or popular in all the time periods. From looking at the style or usage of each clothing, I was able to discover the perspectives on the color pink gradually changes over time. For instance, in previous days. the color pink was only meant for girls or had a meaning of feminine. Despite this fact, due to the time period and the changes on people’s perspectives, the color pink is now the color of confidence, passion and the color that has no restriction depended on gender. I wanted to create a meme that challenges the stereotypes of the previous perspectives on the color pink. Due to this reason, my meme contains a message of the respect and freedom for the color pink. Furthermore, the color pink could fit and apply to all regardless of sex or age.
