After working with lines for a couple of weeks we had to do a big organic line drawing. I worked with pencils and went to Union Square to look at the plants. It was a bit hard because there were a lot of different leafs one in front of the other and I had to make a selection of what I wanted to draw for this assignment. After drawing only with lines in class for a while It was easier to draw this more complex composition because I got used to using them to show shadows or volumes. For example, you can show the curvatures in the stems of the leaves just by drawing small curved lines on them.
