For the second project, we had to work with our sketchbook drawings again in wire and incorporate a second linear material.
I chose a drawing of a hand that I had done for my drawing class because I thought it would be interesting to try and simulate a 3D effect in a 2D wire drawing just like the pencil sketch does. As a second material, I chose red thread and a little wood plank that I cut into smaller pieces.
I chose to make the hand hang next to a paintbrush to simulate what an artist’s materials would be. In my case, I paint, so what I need is a paintbrush and my hand.
