Wire Portrait

In making the wire portrait, I struggled a lot because I wanted it to appear as though the entire thing were constructed out of a single piece of wire. To create this illusion, I did my best to hid all excess wire to make it appear as though it were a single piece. The greatest challenge in making it was doing the hair and figuring out how to bend it in the right way so that it would come across smoothly and not jagged. When mounting it, I first decided to use a brown piece of illustration board, but later continued to add more and more colors, rotating the canvas with each addition. Mounting the actual portrait proved to be extremely difficult when using multiple illustration boards, because I would have to figure out exactly where I had to poke each hole in each board in order for it to maintain its shape.
