Donnie Darko: Prepare your senses. The year is 1988 and teenage high school student Donnie Darko finds himself in a peculiar situation. If not for his midnight sleep walks, he would have been crushed by a jet engine that had fallen from the sky, out of seemingly nowhere. With a new lease on life, he meets a young girl by the name of Gretchen who he develops feelings for. Strange things begin to happen around him, his school is flooded and vandalized, the home of a popular preacher is burned down, and he begins to have daylight hallucinations of a particular bunny named Frank. Donnie discovers the Philosophy of Time Travel, a novel written by a woman he knows as Grandma Death. He becomes obsessed with the topic, only soon to learn his own role in the Philosophy.
This movie challenges your mind to question the reality of your timeline and validity of your thoughts. With riveting cinematography, Jake Gyllenhaal does an amazing portrayal of a truly creepy character.
