The modular communal space that we created for this project is inspired by the fishing culture. We made a Muti-used fishing chair for two. The fishing chair is in a rectangular box shape made out of wood. Under the seats, it is a storage space to contain the fishing buckets and gears. The board between two seats are made for holding cups and fishing rod. Both of the board and two seats are jointed with hinges to the board so they could flip up.

On the top of the seats are two hand-made white cushions to provide comfort from this lone-time sitting activity. To lift up the seats, we braided the ropes and connected them to the seat by sewing holes on the wood. For the seatback, we made it extendable.

the box could also work as a fishing storage The seats and the fish rods/cup holders are jointed with hinges so that they also work as the top of the storage box under the seats. On the back, the seatback is extendable and attached to the back.

To make the seats and the seatback easier to lift up, we design carved-in handles on the sides of the box and on the seatback.

The group work was divided equally. Each of us participated in every step of the process.
