Theme: Sense of Self

Cotton clouds

I closed the window

Blocking the whole universe outside

The room is too quiet

Too quiet that I could hear my blood flowing inside my vessels

Too quiet that I could hear my blinks

I dive into my bed

Buried my face with soft, soft pillows

I am soaking

Soaking into cotton clouds

My body Floats

Flows with my breath

But,

Where am I?

Down to pillow

Up to space

This is my first time creating a loom, and it is also my first time weaving. The materials that I used besides yarn are wool felt and foil paper. The softness and fluffiness of wool felt echoing with the atmosphere in my poem, represents the pillow, cotton clouds, the comfiness, the action of flowing and floating. The foil paper that was added in the weaving added a galactic element to the woolen piece, connecting with the cosmic word that are used in the poem. I choose to display it as a tapestry, because the woolen form presents a drapery shape when it’s hanging.
