Photo Roman

Project:

This project was aimed to piece together a series of photos to visually depict a narrative or idea. The goals were to learn new ways of creating digital video media and to learn how to illustrate a narrative through a sequence of photos. I was inspired by paintings done by Monet of a certain rock formation, he painted the same location at different times of day across multiple days.

Process:

For my process, I brainstormed an idea and then took a few days to take my photos. I wanted to depict the light and how it differed across time and day through different specific locations. I took my photos of the places and then used premier pro to create the image sequences. I added a background and text to further preface my idea. I created the audio with the sound of waves crashing and a song that I thought fit the images.

Process Documentation:

The original piece I was inspired by at The Met, Claude Monet.

Final project:

Reflection:

I enjoyed the process of photographing for this work. I had trouble with the software and hope to use it more to become more familiar with it. In conclusion, I achieved the learning goals I set for myself, and I am happy with the outcome of my project. I successfully translated the initial idea to the final project.
