One way I measure time passing is through change in form. For my time map I photographed the process of my chipping nail polish to portray time moving in my environment. My desk is where I spend most of my time sketching, creating, and editing. While sitting in my isolated cube I find myself fixated on picking at my nails out of habit. At the start, my nails are shiny with a clean coat of color, but as time passes they gradually become more damaged. It is a never ending cycle of applying, chipping, pealing, and then reapplying only for it all to eventually chip off again.
The change in composition in the series of photos evokes the sense of movement in that the subject shifts around the frame. While my nails are still colored, the focus is on the left side of the image and as they crackle the focus moves to the right.
