Our topic was environmental racism, and so the two sides were the victims and the perpetrators. We used generic stock images to create the background and chose to use cartoon characters to create a scenario. The “Proud Family” characters represent a normal, happy, black family rather than using images of real people. This could be representative of the mindset of city planners when they plot landfills in black and brown communities. Bob the Builder represents policymakers who force black and brown families into poor areas where there are power plants and factories.
