New School Jitters

Starting at a New School, quite literally in this case, can be nerve wracking. Especially when you know absolutely no one upon entering. That, however, is what college is all about: choosing the right place for you that’s going to help you accomplish all your goals, despite the lack of having the security of a friend by your side. My first day of orientation I felt utterly alone. Luckily, I came across people who were very friendly and sparked a few potential friendships. The second day of orientation I was alone again, the people I met the previous day were no where to be found. Then more friendly and open people introduced themselves and more potential friendships were born. Despite my new acquaintances, the nerves have not ceased to exist. The start of college presents me with many unknown variables: Who will be in my classes? What will my professors be like? What will the coursework be? Can I even do this? A lot of fear and uncertainty lies ahead. Nevertheless, I must proceed with my best foot forward, work as hard as I can, and hopefully everything will fall into place.
