My urban adaptation garment entitled “Construction Zone” is inspired by the theme of transportation. I decided to base my garment on street signs and when we got to Chinatown, there was a construction going on in the streets and that was my main inspiration. My second inspiration was a coat I saw in the Metropolitan Museum. The design had a white line that bordered the collar and because of that I decided to create to create a yellow caution tape inspired coat. I also made an orange vinyl dress and added two pieces of white fabric to symbolize a traffic cone. Finally, I added a curved black arrow that also symbolizes a street sign.
