I chose the images that I visualized due to my thinking process for creating the DAI. I took the question and let it lead me to a keyword, which allowed t to create a mental visualization and eventually create artwork that reflected it. I chose each medium based on what I’m comfortable with, what I have experience with, and what fit my question visualization. For one of my questions, I knew that a photography would be more successful than any other medium due to the fact that it showed the exact message it was intended. The rest of my visualizations were made as vector images In Illustrator. I think this was useful to represent them because it gave me creative control in terms of what the illustration shows more so than a photograph. Also, I really enjoy working with Illustrator. I presented my work to my classmates on my learning portfolio on my computer. I had five individual pieces and they all had very different compositions and color schemes. I don’t believe that my visualizations were very connected with each other because each independent questions led me on a visual path to a unique image. I felt good about presenting my writing in regards to the images because it allowed me to add context to the piece I created, especially allowing my classmates to get a clearer understanding of what my work is trying to say. I felt confident about showing my work because I think I was successful in representing my questions into images. I liked most of the work I created and did not mind opening it up to others to analyze. I liked being present when my classmates did the DAI because it gave me a chance to answer their questions about the work and I got to see the process of my work being analyzed which I believe is a helpful tool in general. I thought of my questions for my classmates because I just used the questions that immediately came to mind when pondering their work. If I were to make changes to my work I would just spend more time perfecting the techniques I used and add more detail to better show my message. If I could have shared anything else with my viewers it would have to be the breakdown of my process that got me from the question to the image. I would tell them the feeling I got from the question, the keyword it led me to, and how that led me to represent the my image in the way that I did.
