Certain things we have done in Integrative Seminar 2 that were new to me were several events we have done. The exercise where we took time within our thoughts was very important because it helped me get through the rest of the class time in a better mental state. I think they way we are starting to use our bullet journals to write without putting too much thought into the words and find a way to solve a problem we had is very therapeutic and I found it very interesting. I have been using ” spelunking” or digging deeper into learning the ways of research and learning how to questions things more. If I were to question anything about class I would have to ask if that time we took where we closed our eyes and guided our thoughts would be a weekly event and if so, will it benefit our minds in the long run? In Berger’s essay I realized just how much people pay attention to glamour and the fact that we are not jealous of the people in the advertisements, we are jealous of our future selves who have attained these items and somehow feel richer and more luxurious due to having them. I did have to question Berger’s credibility when comparing some of the oil paintings with more modern publicity because some of them did not show any correlation to my eye. So far with the IS2 classes I have noticed a good sense of connection between the two sources, which I did not feel as strongly last semester. I can tell that the assignments are very connected and have a useful and interesting correlation in both seminar and studio.
