Bridge 2-Infomap

I’m interested in this topic because I have always been thinking that interior design and atmosphere of a place affect people in every condition. These details even affect their decisions. During I was doing my Bridge 1 project, this became the most intriguing topic for me.With this research topic, I want to discuss women’s behavioral reactions in two different types of stores. Also I want to discuss how these stores differ from each other in means of design. The central message is that design and atmosphere affect people many ways, especially while shopping. There are a lot of aspects which differ in luxury and lower end department stores, such as organization of the products, furniture’s, entrance, music playing, other people inside etc.I expect to reveal that women really get affected from the ambiance of a particular store. Also even though they have similar products inside, women tend to shop from luxury department stores because of the more welcoming and luxurious atmosphere. My audience is women from all social classes in the US because there are a lot of both types of department stores in the country. Women shop from those places and they display different shopping habits. The findings from the research would allow those women to see their characteristics as customers from a different perspective. The reader would see how people working in department stores try to affect women customers to make them shop more than they expect themselves. After my final discussion with Anna, I decided to specify my focus and I will make observations in Saks Fifth Avenue and JC Penney.

This is was my Infomap before I made the final touches and add more specific information.

These are the feedback I got in class.

This is the final version of my Infomap.
