The first two images above are the process pictures of my charcoal drawing. The third picture is the final result.
I made this charcoal drawing during my Drawing & Imaging class. Each student had to draw the figure model, Amy, in this sitting pose. However, each student had a different drawing because of where he was sitting in the room. I chose to draw Amy’s back view because my favorite part of the body is the back. The assignment also required us to put Amy in a famous painting; drawing; or landmark. I decided to draw Amy on one of Monet’s lily pads. I thought that my expressive style of drawing went along well with Monet’s aesthetic. I also thought that the sensualness of the scene fit will with Amy’s beautiful body.
