Lost Book Found

Our Bridge 2 project is about looking into a space through fresh eyes and becoming invisible to see the things we weren’t able to notice before. The film Lost Book Found, is about a worker at a cart vender and his experience of looking at New York as an “invisible” person. I learned that once you blend into the environment, you’re able to see the small details of the area.

From watching this film, I was able to see the development of the narrator. From a cart vender to an office worker, his view of the city has changed but he’s still has emotional responses to price sales and small reminders of the book that he once read. The film was very experimental in the cuts of the shots, transitions, and sounds used. Cohen’s had a lot of streets shots and somewhat personal shots of people in the city.
