Sugar Hill (Harlem) Bridge 2: Our City Unveiled

Sugar Hill (Harlem) got its name in the 1920 for famously housing wealthy African Americans during the Harlem Renaissance. Due to the wealthy life/”sweet life” that these residents lived, the street of row houses were named Sugar Hill.

For my artist booklet, I would like to create a zine inspired by the 1920s. I would like to design the booklet so that it incorporates the culture and the status of the time.

At the time being, I’m not sure if I would want to have a linear story. If I were to have a linear story, it would be as if the buildings were looking back into its past and reminiscing of the Harlem Renaissance. If it weren’t to be linear, it would be a zine celebrating that time and part of history.
