Bridge Project #3: Color & Convergence

Final Bridge Project #3 – Color & Convergence (White)

Molly Metz, Carmen Cordova, Maggie Kobeszko, Su Jin Oh

In our audio documentary we tell four different stories of hope and overcoming adversity. Our color of white is used as a symbol of hope and blankness. At times we get stuck and don’t know how to feel or what to do so the idea of a blank slate comes into play. We have the story of El Salvador coming to out of their 20 year civil war and the idea of peace and hope for the country, we tell the story of a young woman coming to terms with her background having moved around a lot and attending international schools, the story of a girl coming to terms with her parents divorce and how she became stronger through that process, and finally the story of a family moving from Poland to the United States for a new start. In our piece we start with the conflict or adversity and showed the progression of finding the new beginning or solving the conflict. Each of the stories are very personal but they have a common thread of hope and finding yourself, your family or country’s identity.
