Reflection: First Terminal Workshop

General Thoughts:

  • Prepare a better answer for “why is this important?” and what people actually use terminal for. maybe have a couple of slides of examples.
  • ask people to download key software (like homebrew) before coming
  • couple/group fun things (like figlet) with lessons (like piping)
  • make sure to check after the first major step that everyone’s stuff is working. because people will NOT speak up and by the time they do it is too late.
    • probably best to do this is by getting up and walking around. do not trust someone saying ‘yes i am having problems’ when asking if everything is alright
  • maybe create a feedback form for people who attend the workshop so I can get honest feedback.

obvious thoughts:

  • Make sure code in presentation is actually written correctly (obviously)
  • fully test things on PC and do not just research it and depend on sanie being there 😛
