Thoughts about Domain:

  • myphone.com (or any other variation) is not available.
  • miphone and mifone are… but i am not sure if I want to do misspellings.
  • I could always do just krismadden.fr/myphone as the project is very much linked to me and my experience.
  • projectmyphone is available
  • phone liberation organization (play off the BLO)
  • could create a name from the abbreviation like Earth Liberation Front which is ELF or Peta, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals
    • Pam: People for accessible mobiles
    • Pamd:  People for accessible mobile devices
    • Ufad: Users for accessible devices
    • Uap: Users for accessible phones
    • Hap: Hackers for accessible phones
    • Map: Makers for accessible phones
    • Mad: Makers for accessible Devices
    • Mipt: Makers for Individualism in Personal Technology
    • Mop: My own Phone

 

Thoughts about site design

  • Originally I planned to edit the apple website. But I think directly copying their website would be a bit cliche.
    • I like the idea of walking away from Apple… which is why I am looking at new names.
  • Apple’s style though has penetrated the market and is seen in other websites… so maybe I should not discount the style altogether.
