Artist Trap Research

Santiago Ramón y Cajal,

1852 – 1934, Spain, Pioneer of Neuroscience as well as the creator of groundbreaking anatomical drawings

Made scientific discoveries through his drawings

I thought his black ink drawings were especially visually stunning . They blur the lines separating abstract and representational work, something I personally strive to do. His art feels beautifully abstract but not random. He was first a passionate academic, which drove an even deeper exploration through art.

Project proposal: Explore something within my own life, and deepen my understanding through an abstract interpretation.

Create an abstracted version of the internal view of an iphone. Explore how iphones have become an extension of us as humans.
