2 point perspective painting

Directions:

Using a 2 point perspective, create an image composed of shapes with pencil and ruler. Then, scan into Illustrator, trace, and create 4 color studies. With your best one, paint with acrylic on 18×24 Bristol Board.

Reflection:

Through this project, I was able to practice more on my patience, taking the time to make sure each line was precise and clean. I had difficulties in the painting process because a mistake would be obviously known but it taught me to be extra careful and plan ahead with mixing paints and using tape. My favorite parts of the painting are how the shapes look realistic, thanks to the technique of perspective and using colors that would be realistic with a light source coming at the top right corner. During crit, I noticed that mine was the only light pastel-colored one compared to the other glowy, neon paintings. I’m still happy with how mine turned out, how it looks almost like a glass home, but I would try to experiment with different colors next time.
