Process:
Wood is such a versatile material. It’s used to support structures, burn fires, and create art pieces. That said, it comes as no surprise that I made a necklace out of wood. I decided to create a design that was very minimal and geometric—heavily emphasizing the patterns of plywood and the sharp angles of each shape. Using the fine saw, drill machine, and revolving sander, I created shapes that maintain sharp lines and corners.

Reflection:
In creating this piece, I also developed more confidence in working with wood and the heavy machinery the university has to offer on-campus. After making the project, I also feel that I can use wood mediums more fluidly and naturally.
