We were tasked to create a 5×5 cube comprised of various masses made from different materials. I chose to use wood, museum board, and cardboard. I created a simple layout in isometric form and then began measuring the pieces. Once all the sides of each mass were cut, I used connectors to bind them. I used wood glue for the wooden component and a tab-thumbtack system for the cardboard and museum board.
After completing the assignment, I understand the importance of precision, how various materials might look different together, and the versatility of modular design. If I had more time before Thanksgiving, I would have created more modules with more complex shapes.
