Sculpture

Space /Materiality

This sculpture is made to function a gesture of my choice. To replicate the human hand I studied the basic anatomy of the hand and also made a drawing which then used as a template.

This sculpture is constructed with copper sheet, brass piping, elastic, and wood. It has twenty-one pieces which were individually sculpted. Thumb is sculpted with the most delicacy. It used no type of adhesive but is friction fitted and nailed. It transforms from tensed position to released position by wires threaded to each finger.
