Artist Discovery Reflection – May 2019

I really enjoyed doing the artist reflection posts this semester. I have never done anything like these reflections before in any class and I think it is really important to learn how to be able to sit with yourself in silence and focus on yourself for a few minutes. I really appreciate learning the process of connecting your emotions to art. Looking back on all the posts I made I think that this was a fairly simple process for me. I am a person who tries to always be in touch with my emotions and feelings.

I think that the second I decided what feeling or emotion I wanted to focus on for my post I went to the internet to look for artwork that correlated. I think that the majority of the artists I chose were random; whatever I saw online and resonated. Looking back at all my posts, I now realize that I would really like to take an art history class in the future. I think it would have not only really helped me with these posts but it would be awesome to be able to be aware of the underlying meaning behind some of the worlds most famous artworks and make my connection like that.
