Hoodie:
T-Shirt:
The two garments that I am going to take apart are an old white hoodie and a new white T-shirt. The hoodie is worn out since I bought it two years ago online from a Chinese Website. On their site, they said the materials used are 100% cotton, but I am not sure if they are telling the truth. And it is made in China. I used to love the hoodies that I got in that online store, however, as time passed by, most of them looked old. I had not been wearing this hoodie that much lately, I was even thinking of donating them, but this is the chance that I can still keep it to myself, and turn it into a shirt.
Hence, I wanted to take them apart and try something new with it. Moreover, the reason why I bought this hoodie was that my friends and I were into Chinese Rap music, and it was trendy among Chinese teenagers. Countless shops started to sell clothing that rappers wear, and they were kind of cheap, thus I bought a few of them. This was a huge part of my high school memories, especially during the senior year, since I had a lot of works to do, and also apply for colleges was also a struggle for me. I had no time to put together outfits every day, and I wore hoodies almost every day. Thus, whenever I see this piece of garment, it reminds me of high school memories.
The second piece of garment that I am taking apart is a white T-shirt. It is from Target; I bought it for last year’s studio class for one of my projects. I thought I bought one white T-shirt. However, it turned out that there were 4 T-shirts in that one pack. I only got to use one out of four. Thus, I wanted to use up the T-shirt for this project. The t-shirt is made out of 100% cotton as well.
