Memory Quilt Concept Statement

The memories that jump out at me the most out of all of these images would have to be the car crash I witnessed from my house and being one of the first people to reach the woman involved. This memory has touched me in a different way because one second this woman is driving like any other person, the next, I see her crashed into a tree and her head in the windshield. I later found out there were drugs involved with this crash and a massive amount of it.

These memories all have an interesting meaning behind them but they’re not all good ones. There are ones that obviously show different types of images such as a car crash, x-ray, and a finger with a deep cut. Those show the bad memories that stay with me and I think about them fairly often. There are also positive ones that left me feeling a satisfied type of way which is why I’ve included them.

The senses that most connect me to my memories would just be sight because once I look at them, I get a quick glimpse of almost a flashback to that moment and all of the memories come flashing back to me giving me a reminiscent type of feeling.

These memories all vary time wise and don’t have a specific time frame. They vary from fourth grade (2009) to present time, they just speak to me differently than other memories I’ve encountered and created.

My significant memories contribute to who I am today because I learn from them and how they affected me and I go on with my life either wanting to repeat them due to the satisfaction I encountered or I try to prevent that type of event from happening again due to how it left me feeling.
