For this assignment, my classmates and I were given a specific room rendering created by a former Parsons student. With that photo, we were assigned to design the space as a modern-day room. I was assigned a rendering by a Parsons alumni.
My observations from this rendering was the coldness in the room and the lack of color. The use of this room was most likely for formal meetings hence the use of furniture. One side of the seating is used for the homeowners while the other side is used for the guests of the meeting.
When I had the opportunity to design the space, I changed the color scheme to radiate the comfortability. I made the space more homelike by adding photos and putting a lit fireplace in the room. I added more color by spacing a plant in the space along with outdoor colors. I also made sure to include current technology such as a television, a cell phone, and an iPad.
