For this Assignment, we had to ask a friend or a family member who is not in New York, what five things would they do if they could be in New York. From the list of five things, we had to chose one, do it, and create a post card of our experience. So, I asked my friend Alison, who lives in Chicago and studies in SIAC. She came up with a list of five things which included: Going to a speakeasy called The Angles Share, visiting the First Street Garden in the East Village, going to the MoMa, and to MoMa PS1, and going to the Chelsea Market and eating in Los Tacos No.1.

I chose to go to the First Street Garden in the East Village because I’m new in the city and it seemed as something very unique and interesting to do. So, I went to the garden and decided to take my polaroid camera to capture my moment in the garden, Alison loves polaroid pictures so I wanted it to be special. This garden is beautiful, very small, but has some incredible graffiti in it. I took pictures of the graffiti’s in the garden, and decided to document the exact time on the polaroid’s because Alison loves when her pictures show the exact time they were taken, so I did the same for her. Each picture has the exact time it was taken. After taking pictures and exploring the garden, I decided to create the postcard using vivid colors that represented the graffiti’s of the garden, as well as mimic the graffiti I liked the most in the postcard, which is why there are some hearts and the word “love”. The graffiti I liked the most was one that had many positive words, the one that stood out the most was love, and also the heart graffiti. I  also decided to glue some of the polaroid’s sticking out of the actual post card to give it sort of a 2D feeling.
