Bio
I am going into fashion design next year. Although I was not able to learn anything technical related to my major, the variety of projects have broaden my vision. I wish I could be more immersed into my works when I begin doing the thing I am most passionated about, which is fashion.
General look
I am more focused on themes related to internal emotions personally. One of my favorite is the body extension I made for space&materiality. The theme was about comforting the 
loneliness. I was also asked to consider the social issues in some of the projects, which forced me out of the comfort zone and brought me a lot of inspirations.
Highlights
- One of my highlights of the year is the studio course I took in the second semester. It is a semester long project which is to produce a fashion magazine. With all original editorials and advertisement shooting. I set the general vibe I wanted the magazine to fell into and planed out everything I need to work on first.
I was very stressed out at first. I love photography but photo shooting means asking people to model, and I had no idea whom to ask. This project was a real challenge for me not only on the creative skills but also the social skills. But I ended up being able to finish it. This project made me realize many of the real world issues like work with others I have to deal with while I am working, instead of completed isolated and work on my own.
- Another highlight of my year would beholding out with the senior thesis. I am blesses to have the chance to help a senior student with her collection. I made a lot of new friends within this opportunity that I never would otherwise. She has taught me many crucial skills in making garments, which was very helpful for going into my major next year. I am also glad to being able to get an idea of the process on creating a collection.
Next step
I tried a lot of different medias and materials this year, including wood, clay, and digital. But I am looking forward to work on fabrics next year. I am excited to focus on one media and explore it well.
